Call for nominations: Women in Architecture and Construction Award 2018 (Near East and North Africa)
The Tamayouz Award for Women in Architecture and Construction (Near East and North Africa) is now open for submissions.
The excellence award honours women who have contributed to the fields of architecture and construction throughout the Near East and North Africa, and is currently seeking candidates for its two prizes:
While this award was previously only open for Iraqi architects, it is now open to women of all backgrounds who either work in the Near East and North Africa or abroad, but contribute to the development of the built environment in the region. Potential candidates should also have made a contribution to the advancement of the profession and/or a difference within their community using their skills.
Candidates applying to the Rising Star Award must be within the first 10 years of their career.
In the previous cycles of the Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction, the members of the judging panel included Angela Brady PPRIBA, Jane Duncan PPRIBA; Clare Devine, Director of the Architecture and Built Environment CABE at the Design Council; Virginia Newman, Director of KSR Architects and a Champion of Equality and Diversity at the RIBA; Yasmin Shariff, Director of Dennis Sharp Architects and the International Committee of Architectural Critics; Ali Grehan, Dublin City Architect; Professor Paul Ivey, Pro Vice Chancellor International at London South Bank University and Professor Khaled Al-Sultany, the 2018 judging panel will be announced shortly.
