Call for Participation: Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award 2015

The judging Panel of the 2014 Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award.

Tamayouz Excellence Award is seeking candidates/nominations for the two honours celebrating women in architecture and construction; the Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction award and the Young Woman Architect – Rising Star Award.

Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award is an excellence award for women who have contributed to the fields of architecture and construction throughout Iraq.  The award aims to support and empower women working in the all fields of Built Environment.

The two categories for the 2015 Award are:

– Women in Architecture and Construction Award: this award category recognises women’s contribution to the field of architecture, enhancement of the status of women, achievements and lifelong commitment to the profession. – Emerging Women Architects Award: this award category recognises excellence in design, leadership, early career achievements and bright future ahead. Candidates must be an Iraqi Citizen and/or employed in Iraq specializing in fields of architecture and construction and/or living abroad but their contribution has a direct impact on the profession of architecture in Iraq or the built environment. Candidates must also have made a contribution to help advance the profession or a difference within their community using their skills. Candidates applying to the Emerging Women Architects award must be born after 19734 (40 years old or younger), graduation projects cannot be submitted as an achievement. Previous winners of the award are: – 2014: Shereen Sherzan for the Women in Architecture and Construction Award, Venus Akef for the Young Woman Architect – Rising Star Award and a Commemorative special prize for Neda’a Al-Juboory. – 2013: Professor Jala Makhzoumi for the Women in Architecture and Construction Award, Outstanding Contribution to Architectural Education Award – Dr Ghada Al Silq, Outstanding Contribution to local communities Award – Hawri Talabani, Outstanding Contribution to professional practice and management – Huda Mohammed Ali and Outstanding Contribution in specific sector – Fituh Al-Zubaidi for her work in the medical sector. In 2014 the prestigious judging panel of Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award comprised of:  Angela Brady, Architect and Past President of the RIBA, Clare Devine, Director of the Architecture and Built Environment CABE at the Design Council, Jane Duncan, Architect and President Elect of the RIBA and Ali Grehan, Dublin City Architect.  The full judging Panel of this year will be announced later.https://youtu.be/0bK_NRm0WVYhttps://youtu.be/paVOrYx-_Io
