Part of the broader Tamayouz Excellence Award programme, this prestigious recognition highlights leadership, innovation, and public service across two categories: Rising Star, for emerging talents, and Women of Outstanding Achievement, for established leaders making a lasting impact.
يسرُّ جائزة تميُّز أن تعلن عن أسماء الفائزات بجائزة تميُّز للنساء في العمارة و الإنشاء لعام 2024، حيث تُكرّم هذه الجائزة النساء اللواتي قدّمن إسهامات بارزة في مجال العمارة والبيئة العمرانية في منطقة الشرق الأدنى وشمال إفريقيا. وهي جزء من برنامج جائزة تميُّز، و التي تحتفي بالتميّز المعماري في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا وما بعدها. وتضم الجائزة فئتين: فئة النجمات الصاعدات التي تكرّم المواهب الواعدة، و فئة النساء ذوات الإنجاز المتميّز التي تكرّم القياديات اللواتي أحدثن تأثيرًا كبيرًا ودائمًا في هذا المجال.
يَسُر جائزة تميُّز ان تعلن عن الفائز بجائزة محمد مكية للعمارة لعام 2024 ، و المعروفة ايضاً باسم شخصية العام المعمارية الشرق أوسطية. الفائز هذا العام هو جورج عربيد، المعماري اللبناني والمدير المؤسس للمركز العربي للعمارة في بيروت، لعب جورج دورًا مهماً في توثيق وتعزيز التراث المعماري الحديث في المنطقة العربية. تُركّز أبحاثه على مواضيع العمارة الحديثة في لبنان والعالم العربي.
Tamayouz Excellence Award is proud to announce George Arbid, a Lebanese architect and founding director of the Arab Center for Architecture in Beirut, as the winner of its Mohamed Makiya Prize for Architecture 2024, also known as the Middle Eastern Architectural Personality of the Year Award. Arbid has been recognised for his pivotal role in documenting, researching and promoting modern architectural heritage in the Arab region.
This interview features Shatha Safi, the Director of RIWAQ, renowned for her contributions to architectural conservation in Palestine. Her work focuses on rehabilitating neglected rural areas and cultural landscapes, combining architecture with community participation. Her notable projects include the rehabilitation of Beit Iksa, Hajjah, Birzeit, and Qalandiya, aiming to preserve cultural heritage while improving local infrastructure. She holds degrees in architecture and cultural heritage from Birzeit University and ITILO, Turin, and continues to advocate for sustainable conservation practices in her region.
